ASIC/FPGA Engineer
Location: Bloomington, MN 
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hours: 40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri
Pay $85/Hr

About the Role
Join our client’s engineering team to design and develop advanced ASIC and FPGA solutions that support mission-critical defense programs. You will take part in defining architectures, running simulations, and driving projects through the entire development life cycle. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive on solving complex technical challenges while contributing to innovative, high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities
•Define, design, verify, and document ASIC and FPGA developments
•Determine architecture, system simulations, and detailed design approaches
•Define module interfaces and oversee all aspects of device design and simulation
•Evaluate process flows including high-level design, synthesis, place/route, timing, and power utilization
•Develop test and simulation plans to establish functional criteria and verify results
•Analyze performance and recommend design improvements
•Support technical product generation in compliance with standards and processes
•Research and analyze customer design proposals and specifications for feasibility
•Select components and equipment based on technical analysis and reliability
•Participate in organizational process improvement initiatives
•Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers as needed
•Contribute to the completion of major projects with limited direction

Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field plus 5+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience
•U.S. Citizenship (required due to government contract work)
•Active or Interim DoD Secret security clearance at time of hire
•Proficiency with ASIC/FPGA engineering concepts, design processes, and tools
•Strong knowledge of simulation, synthesis, and verification methods
•Highly skilled in Microsoft Office and ASIC/FPGA design tools
•Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
•Ability to multi-task, think creatively, and work independently with limited direction

Preferred Qualifications
•Experience leading engineering teams or mentoring junior staff
•Familiarity with vendor technologies, foundry processes, and device libraries
•Awareness of industry technology trends and ability to apply them effectively
