Engineering Project Manager
Job Description
Hybrid or Onsite:
- This will be a hybrid role: approximated 90% on-site and 10% remote.
- Understand and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of systems engineering that will aid in the ability to plan and execute engineering projects.
- Create project plans and schedules by working with the engineering organization.
- Lead projects and technical teams in the design, validation and configuration management of platform product improvements.
- Manage all projects within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget to a high level of quality and safety.
- Prepare bids and support any applicable proposal development efforts.
- Provide support to other functional organizations (Program Office, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Finance, etc) as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
- Forecast resources for the engineering projects for which you are responsible.
- Coordinate and support the development of corrective action activities.
- Identify critical issues requiring action in a timely manner and manage to closure.
- Develop and present executive level summaries.
- Utilize established metrics for monitoring project performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering preferred. Other technical degrees will be considered with relevant experience. Advanced/additional degree in Business Administration a plus.
- 10+ years relevant experience in the engineering/defense industries.
- Familiar with Earned Value Management.
- Familiar with the defense acquisition process.
- Experienced in technical interface with customers.
- Organizational capabilities to direct and lead others in a team-based environment.
- Analytical skills and ability to direct and consult on technical analyses.
- Must be willing to travel (domestic and/or foreign) as needed.
- Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime.
- This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).
This assignment is a US Government Contract which requires all applicants to be US Citizens.
