About the Role
Contract Professionals, Inc. (CPI), a veteran-owned recruiting firm, is seeking an experienced Field Modification Team Member / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support field operations on military vehicle platforms. In this role, you’ll perform maintenance, retrofits, and system upgrades on tracked combat vehicles, ensuring mission readiness and performance reliability in both domestic and international environments.
Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on power plants, engine fuel systems, air induction systems, exhaust, cooling, and electrical/hydraulic systems

Install modifications and retrofits on M109A7 and M992A3 platforms (and other related combat vehicles)

Operate and perform testing on combat vehicles as required

Read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and safety documentation

Disassemble and reassemble combat vehicles and subsystems

Use specialized tooling and fabrication methods, including cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping, welding, and painting

Assemble and install modification kits and apply software or firmware updates

Troubleshoot and repair vehicle faults to restore functionality

Maintain accountability and serviceability of assigned tools and equipment

Communicate work status and documentation through reports and MS Office applications
Required Qualifications
-
Experience with M109A7 and M992A3 military vehicle maintenance
-
Former U.S. Army MOS 63 or 91 series (or equivalent military occupational specialty)

Proven experience maintaining and repairing complex heavy equipment or military systems

Ability to travel up to 75% (domestic and international)

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and work instructions

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

High School diploma or equivalent required

U.S. Citizenship required
