Production Scheduler

Job Description
Our client, a leading company in the industrial sector, is seeking a skilled Production Scheduler to join their Materials Department. This role involves reviewing material requirements, issuing release orders, expediting shipments, and supporting the Procurement team in supplier optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
Location: Plymouth, MI
Compensation: $65, 000-$75, 000 (Direct Hire position + benefits)
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate production schedules in coordination with the sales team and production department supervisors.
- Work directly with Production Supervisors on schedule attainment and address any inhibitors to the schedule.
- Collaborate with intercompany locations on requirement processing into the master schedule.
- Review upcoming materials requirements to ensure no interruption in the schedule from plant floor concerns or purchased components.
- Perform capacity analysis, identify potential bottlenecks, and allocate resources accordingly.
- Prepare daily production reports, create work orders, and match them with put tickets in the system.
- Make production delivery commitments to the sales team.
- Work within our PLEX MRP & ERP system.
- Interface directly with customers to negotiate any schedule adjustments.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department, and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
- Expedite shipments from suppliers as needed to meet production schedules.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures (e.G., Employee Handbook).
- Report directly to the Production Control Manager and frequently interface with all internal and external customers.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in MLM/Supply Chain Management or related field and three to five years related experience and/or training;or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in an MRP/Scheduling environment is preferred.
- Experience with multi-plant scheduling is highly desired.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand;walk;sit;use hands to finger, handle, or feel;and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
