Job Description
The SHE Specialist works independently and in team a setting to provide technical and professional safety health and environmental support to BAE Systems managers and employees. You will assist to improve their safety and health to ensure environmental risks are mitigated and incompliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Health and wellbeing of our workforce is our corner stone, it starts with building a safety-first culture. The main effort of the work assignment will be performed in one location in Europe, ie Croatia. Supporting a manufacturing effort comprised of the Bradley M2A2 ODS Fighting vehicle. Other efforts could be required, and candidate must understand that notification could be short notice to support additional efforts. Working environment has extensive travel and will support company efforts in field like conditions (domestic and foreign). You will support vehicle test conditions (inside/external), along with working in a production environment, weather could be harsh at times due to environmental changes. You will be working with a team comprised of both US personnel as well as host nation nationals. This position is rewarding and could propose long term employment opportunities. Able to communicate complex health and hazard exposure information effectively with employees and all levels of site management (written and verbal). Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative individually, with minimal supervision. Efficient time management and organizational skills;Proficient in Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Power Point, Word, and OneNote. Ability to prepare and present survey analyses to all employee groups. Experience facilitating meetings and working groups such as site safety committees and incident review boards;Able to evaluate industrial test and rapid prototype processes and develop solutions;Basic knowledge of SHE Management Systems (ISO 45001/ISO 14001 requirements).
A minimum of 2-5 years'experience working as a safety professional in an industrial environment Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Prefer experience in an industrial engineering, manufacturing, &/or prototype environment. Sound knowledge of engineering, physical, and biological sciences. Capable of "Train the Trainer "capable certificating and or developing training for forklift operators and other required site equipment. Laser Safety Officer helpful. Root cause analysis training 5-Why, Fishbone, TapRooT.
Experience working in the military industrial base of manufacturing and test enviornments.
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and four (4) years of relevant work experience, or an Associate's Degree and six (6) years relevant experience, or the overall equivalent.
