Summary:
Our Client is seeking a Senior Machine Design Engineer to join their team in Jackson, MI. As a Senior Machine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated machines and equipment for the baking industry. Your day-to-day tasks will include conceptualizing, prototyping, and validating machine designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This is a full-time on-site role where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative automation technology.
Responsibilities:
- Design new products and modify existing designs.
- Assist in resolving Manufacturing, Assembly, Outsourcing, Warranty, and Rectification issues.
- Actively research and analyze competitive offerings.
- Provide guidance to manufacturing and assembly.
- Support development of owner’s manuals for new products.
- Assist in creation and maintenance of quality standards.
- Allocate engineering workloads to meet production milestones.
- Oversee day-to-day decisions and work execution of Mechanical Engineering team.
- Take a proactive approach to new product development and equipment upgrades.
- Resolve Warranty and Rectification issues.
- Implement plans for rectification reduction and Engineering BOM changes.
- Establish best practice standards and lead the Mechanical Engineering Team.
- Advise management on new developments affecting various aspects.
- Provide direction on interpretation and application of company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong Mechatronics background.
- Experienced in SolidWorks.
- Packaging Equipment background required.
- OEM equipment manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Comfortable in office and shop environments.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing a plus.
- Performance coaching and mentoring mindset.
