Are you a skilled software engineer with a passion for signal processing and embedded systems? We’re seeking a Senior DSP Software Engineer to join a dynamic team working on advanced undersea sensor systems. This is an exciting opportunity to design and implement high-performance DSP algorithms that have a real-world impact in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize DSP algorithms and software for undersea sensor applications.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate DSP solutions into embedded systems.
- Conduct performance analysis and optimize algorithms for efficient, reliable operation.
- Maintain documentation for DSP algorithms, software, and systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve DSP software and system issues.
- Stay current with advancements in DSP technologies and industry trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DSP software development (Master’s degree plus 3 years experience acceptable).
- Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
- Experience with DSP algorithm development and optimization for undersea sensor applications.
- Familiarity with DSP hardware platforms and architectures.
- Proficiency in MATLAB or similar tools for algorithm development and simulation.
- Knowledge of signal processing theory and techniques in undersea environments.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development.
- Experience with submarine or surface ship sonar systems.
- Knowledge of underwater acoustics and sonar technologies.
- Familiarity with machine learning or AI applications in signal processing.
- Experience with oceanographic data analysis and modeling.
- On-site at our Manassas, VA facility.
- U.S. Citizenship required for this U.S. Government contract position.
