Director of Sales & Business Development
Job Description
Employment Type: Direct Hire| Full-Time
Pay Range: Up to $240, 000 base per year + commission
About the Role
You will lead revenue growth and market expansion for a vertically integrated manufacturer of high-speed interconnects, custom cable assemblies, and wire harness solutions. In this role, you will manage a team of three sales personnel and distributors, drive business development with OEM customers, and partner with engineering teams to secure design-in opportunities. This position plays a key role in positioning the company as a preferred provider of engineered solutions in aerospace and advanced electronics markets.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage sales personnel

Develop strategic territory plans, account management frameworks, and sales forecasting processes

Conduct technical sales discussions, program reviews, and commercial negotiations

Identify new markets, applications, and customer segments for high-speed interconnect and custom cable solutions

Partner with customer engineering teams to influence design and program requirements

Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across engineering, purchasing, program management, and executive stakeholders

Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and quality, to align on customer programs

Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and technical briefings

Support customer programs from prototype through production, including on-site builds and engineering trials
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree;Business or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related) preferred
- 7–10 years in technical sales, business development, or sales management within interconnects, cable assemblies, or electro-mechanical components
- Must have experience with defense/aerospace markets

Proven success managing sales teams in an engineered-product environment

Track record of meeting revenue targets and developing OEM accounts

Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and communicate complex interconnect solutions

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in high-speed or high-bandwidth interconnect markets and participation in industry standards committees

Knowledge of sensor technologies, electro-mechanical components, and custom connector or cable solutions

Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, RoHS, ITAR, NAICS codes, and other electronics manufacturing regulatory frameworks
