Machine Assembly Manager
Salary:  $75k+ Depending on Experience.
Location: Jackson, MI- Onsite
Direct Hire- Excellent Benefits

Company Overview: Our client is a privately held corporation renowned for innovation and leadership in the baking industry. With a focus on slicing, packaging, and automated systems, our line of equipment caters to both artisan and industrial baking facilities globally.

Summary: They are seeking a skilled Machine Assembly Manager to join Their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will oversee assembly and shipping operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and product quality.

Job Description: Responsibilities include:
  • Managing personnel in the assembly and shipping areas.
  • Developing the workforce and assembly processes to achieve 90% overall assembly effectiveness.
  • Driving continuous improvement within the department.
  • Improving and developing final assembly checklists for mechanical and electrical aspects.
  • Serving as the inspector to enhance equipment quality, fit, and finish.
  • Training assembly personnel on proper assembly methods.
  • Implementing corrections and improvements identified in the field into the manufacturing process.
  • Supporting service parts and upgrades, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Setting up in-house Special Projects.
  • Pre-checking all service kits before release to manufacturing.
  • Collaborating with management to maintain the Assembly Department schedule.
  • Acting as a liaison to Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Recording inspection results and submitting them with component literature and prints to engineering.
Desired Skills and Experience: Knowledge and Skills (Education):
  • 10+ years of experience managing or supervising an assembly team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to create a highly utilized and efficient working environment.
  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to change team cultures.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving bending, kneeling, lifting, etc., for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints.
