Associate II –Purchasing
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Pay: $30–$33/hour
Clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret | U.S. Citizenship Required
Overview:
Seeking an Associate II –Purchasing to support procurement and supplier management activities for defense programs. This role focuses on RFQs/RFPs, cost analysis, negotiations, and purchase order administration in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage subcontracts and purchase orders (fixed price & cost reimbursement)
- Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs
- Perform cost/price analysis and proposal evaluations
- Support supplier negotiations (pricing, terms, conditions)
- Administer purchase orders and monitor supplier performance
- Analyze MRP requirements and Oracle system data
- Coordinate source selection and supplier reviews
- Act as liaison between suppliers, engineering, and program teams
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and timelines
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
- Experience with procurement, purchasing, or supply chain functions
- Experience with Oracle and/or MRP systems
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Preferred:
- Experience in defense or government contracting
- Strong cost analysis and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Willingness to travel (domestic and occasional international)
