Associate Systems Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Pay: $35–$39/hour
Work Type: Onsite
Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule
Overview:
Seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to support the integration, build, verification, and delivery of military vehicle platforms including Abrams, Stryker, XM30, and other defense programs. This role focuses on prototype vehicle builds, system integration, cross-functional coordination, and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead developmental projects as System Integration Engineer for prototype and customer vehicle deliveries
- Develop and maintain prototype/mockup build schedules
- Execute fabrication and vehicle build plans
- Assist with prototype hardware procurement and initiate shop work orders
- Serve as primary interface between engineering teams and prototype shop
- Support vehicle-level integration, verification, and issue resolution
- Direct mechanics during subsystem installation using engineering models and drawings
- Monitor Bill of Materials (BOM) maturity and Engineering Release Plans
- Track material receipts and resolve “late to need”shortages
- Generate Engineering Problem Reports for fabrication, installation, or functionality issues
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Ability to work evenings/weekends or overtime when required
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, and Oracle systems
- Prior experience with ground combat vehicles or defense programs
- Experience in prototype builds, vehicle integration, or manufacturing support
- Ability to work in and around military vehicles (ASR test may apply)
