Job Title: CAD Designer, Electrical Project Lead

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a CAD Designer/Electrical Project Lead to join their team at the corporate office in Plymouth, MI. In this role, you will assist in designing and engineering electrical power distribution, lighting, life safety, and security systems for various sectors, including retail, commercial, and healthcare. You will work closely with project leaders, converting engineering drawings into precise CAD/BIM files while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Improve Electrical Systems:
- Design power, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding systems for both new construction and renovations.
- Create detailed 2D/3D system layouts using CAD/BIM software.
- Prepare and revise electrical schematics and perform system design calculations.
- Assist with Project Management:
- Support multiple phases of projects or entire moderate complexity projects.
- Ensure compliance with code requirements, attend client meetings, and assist with project documentation.
- Collaborate and Coordinate:
- Work with customers to understand needs and align designs with safety standards.
- Coordinate with utility companies, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews and integrate electrical systems into building designs.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Identify and resolve design flaws and system errors, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Documentation and Presentation:
- Prepare technical reports, construction drawings, and project proposals.
- Conduct site visits and stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
