Job Title: Advanced Systems Engineer –CWL
Location: Manassas, VA (Onsite with potential hybrid after 6 months)
Position Type: Contract
Pay Rate: Up to $59.00/hr.
Position Overview
Contract Professionals, Inc. Is seeking an Advanced Systems Engineer to support system engineering and functional design efforts for a complex defense platform. This role supports payload integration, weapon launch interlocks, simulation, message exchanges, user interfaces, and cybersecurity integration within a cross-functional engineering environment.
The selected candidate will ensure system-level functional and technical specifications are complete, accurate, and delivered in support of customer review, development, and test activities.
Key Responsibilities
•Support system engineering and functional design of integrated defense systems
•Contribute to payload integration and weapon launch interlock design
•Support weapon simulation and system-level message exchanges
•Participate in cybersecurity integration and embedded system considerations
•Develop and validate system requirements and interface definitions
•Ensure specifications meet technical standards and customer expectations
•Support system development, integration, and verification testing
•Coordinate across cross-functional engineering teams
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field
•5+ years of relevant engineering experience OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years
•Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance required
•U.S. Citizenship required
•Experience with system architectures and embedded or Linux-based systems
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
•Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
•Experience supporting defense programs
•Experience with cybersecurity principles and system hardening
•Experience with requirements management and system modeling tools
Work Environment
Primarily onsite in Manassas, VA with potential for partial remote work after 6 months.
9/80 schedule available.
