About the Role
We’re seeking a Lead Cold Header Operator to join a growing manufacturer in the Plymouth, MI area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with strong cold heading experience who is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities. You’ll not only run and set up equipment but also mentor operators, coordinate workflow, and ensure production targets are consistently achieved.
What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and oversee cold heading operations, ensuring high-quality output and efficient processes.

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot cold heading machinery to produce fasteners and precision metal components.

Train, mentor, and guide team members on best practices, safety, and quality standards.

Perform tooling changes, adjustments, and light maintenance to minimize downtime.

Conduct inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to maintain strict tolerances.

Partner with supervisors and engineers to drive process improvements and meet production goals.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
What You Bring to the Table

Proven experience operating and setting up cold heading or metal forming machinery.

Leadership ability with experience training or mentoring team members.

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

Comfort with blueprint reading, production specs, and precision measuring tools.

Reliable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented with strong teamwork skills.
