CPI is hiring a Senior Communications Systems Engineer on a contract-to-possible hire basis for our large defense industry client in Scottsdale, AZ. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required.  Must be eligible to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance within 12 month of start.

Education Requirement:
Bachelor' s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master' s degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.  All education requirements are verified. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Provides communications system design and analysis for modulation, frequency up/down conversion, Analog/Digital conversion, signal conditioning/filtering, signal multiplexing/combining, error correction coding. 
  • Develops and analyzes communications link budgets
  • Models communications systems components in MatLab
  • Provides cost and implementation schedule estimates for communications systems
  • Understands implementation of communications system using software based systems
  • Provides specifications, requirements, concepts and detailed designs for communications systems
  • Provides specific, detailed information for communications systems hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs.
  • Creates system level test plans and procedures for testing communications systems
  • Defines special test equipment or procedures required for testing complex communications systems
  • Evaluates and reports on new communications systems technologies to enhance capabilities of systems.
  • Travel may be required.
