CFD Staff Engineering Analyst (6–8 Years Experience)
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Pay: $67–$71/hour
Work Type: 100% Onsite
Clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret | U.S. Citizenship Required
Overview:
Seeking a CFD Engineering Analyst to support vehicle thermal management and design optimization for ground combat platforms. This role focuses on system-level simulations, validation, and performance analysis using industry-standard CFD tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CFD analysis at system and subsystem levels
- Execute thermal management and cooling performance simulations
- Conduct validation/correlation of CFD results with test data
- Support test plan development and execution
- Use ANSA and ANSYS Fluent for modeling and simulation
- Provide technical recommendations to design teams
- Lead/coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts
- Develop and improve simulation processes and toolsets
- Prepare technical reports and present findings
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 6–10 years of CFD/thermal analysis experience
- Strong background in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
- Experience with ANSA (modeling) and Fluent (CFD analysis)
- Proven experience in vehicle or system-level design optimization
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux/Unix environments
- Strong communication and analytical skills
Preferred:
- Experience with FEA tools and methods
- Familiarity with Teamcenter, Creo, NX, or VisMockup
- Experience with optimization tools (Isight, HEEDS)
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink or multi-domain simulations
- Exposure to AI/ML tools in engineering analysis
- Background in defense or ground combat vehicles
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Ability to work around military vehicles (ASR compliant)
