Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid)
Direct Hire | Flexible Work Schedule
Hourly Rate: $32 –$37 (based on experience)

About the Opportunity:
Our client, a national civil engineering firm, is seeking a Civil Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support the planning, design, and development of land and infrastructure projects across the United States. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in developing civil engineering designs for site development, utilities, transportation, grading, and drainage

Create detailed drawings and construction plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Support project teams in gathering site data, performing calculations, and producing reports and permit documents

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and project alignment

Participate in client meetings, regulatory submissions, and construction site visits as needed

Coordinate with permitting agencies and utility companies to ensure timely approvals
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or active PE license
-
Minimum 3 years of civil engineering experience (land development experience preferred)

Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Solid understanding of grading, drainage, utility design, and permitting processes

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Comfortable working both independently and in a team-oriented environment
