Cyber Software Development Engineer
Job Description
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Position Overview
Seeking an embedded Cyber Software Engineer to support development of secure software solutions for ground combat vehicle platforms. This role supports Cyber and C5ISR architecture, development, integration, testing, and compliance within Security-Enhanced Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities

Develop embedded software for secure vehicle systems
-
Support full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
-
Perform low-level Linux or VxWorks programming and device driver development

Integrate Board Support Packages (BSP) and hardware/software interfaces
-
Develop tools, scripts, and XML configurations
-
Implement cybersecurity protections for embedded systems
-
Support trade studies, design reviews, and CDRL documentation
-
Ensure accreditation and configuration control compliance
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering preferred)

Strong programming in C, C++, C#, Java, or Rust (embedded focus)

Experience with Linux or VxWorks OS internals
-
Experience with BSPs and hardware/software integration
-
Knowledge of TCP/IP, UART, SPI, I2C

Familiarity with version control, IDEs, CI/CD pipelines
Mandatory

Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
-
Experience implementing cybersecurity measures for embedded systems
-
Automotive and/or military embedded systems experience
-
Must meet Anthropometric Size Requirements (ASR)
