Introduction
CPI is seeking an Advanced FPGA Engineer to join our team supporting leading-edge defense technology programs. In this role, you’ll design and develop complex FPGA and ASIC systems used in secure, high-performance applications. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise to projects that directly impact national security and mission success.
Key Responsibilities

Design, verify, and document ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments.

Define system architecture, simulation plans, and detailed design approaches.

Develop module interfaces and manage all aspects of device design, simulation, and verification.

Evaluate the design process, including synthesis, place-and-route, timing, and power utilization.

Create and execute functional test and simulation plans.

Analyze results and troubleshoot performance or design issues.

Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, and device libraries as needed.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the ASIC/FPGA engineering organization.

Research and analyze design proposals and specifications to determine feasibility and requirements.

Select components and equipment based on performance and reliability criteria.

Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to complete major programs and projects.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related STEM field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience;or a Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience.

Strong understanding of ASIC/FPGA design concepts, principles, and verification methods.

Proficiency with FPGA design tools and simulation environments.

Experience with synthesis, timing analysis, and hardware validation.

Ability to work independently with limited direction and manage multiple priorities.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of work.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
