Sr Advanced FPGA Engineer

Hourly Rate $83.00
About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join our team supporting advanced undersea defense technologies. In this role, you’ll design, develop, integrate, and test custom FPGA firmware for cutting-edge torpedo systems that directly support U.S. Defense initiatives. This is a hands-on, on-site position where you’ll collaborate with top engineers and contribute to projects that have a real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities

Define, design, verify, and document FPGA and/or ASIC developments

Determine architecture, system simulation, and detailed design approach

Define module interfaces and oversee all aspects of device design and simulation

Evaluate process flows including design, synthesis, place & route, timing, and power utilization

Create and execute test and simulation plans to ensure functional performance

Verify results, analyze performance, and present findings to stakeholders

Review vendor capabilities, tools, and technologies for integration into development

Contribute to and lead small technical teams or project tasks

Apply strong engineering processes across all program lifecycle phases

Support technical proposals, subcontractor oversight, and requirements development
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field plus 8+ years of relevant experience OR –Master’s degree in a related field plus 6+ years of relevant experience

U.S. Citizenship required

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance (active clearance preferred)

Strong understanding of ASIC/FPGA engineering processes

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent written/verbal communication skills

Ability to lead technical tasks, guide small teams, and present technical material effectively

Familiarity with project leadership principles such as SPI/CPI, Earned Value, and CAM
