Electrical Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Pay Rate: $61.27/hr
Work Schedule: Fully Onsite | 9/80 Schedule Option Available

Position Overview
The Electrical Hardware Design Engineer will join a cross-disciplinary team developing advanced weapons and navigation system hardware. This role supports full lifecycle electrical hardware development, including schematic design, PCB layout oversight, integration, and test activities in a mission-critical defense environment.

Responsibilities to Anticipate

  • Perform schematic capture and hardware design for digital subsystems

  • Design and support PCB/PWB layouts incorporating FPGAs and DDR memory (DDR3, DDR4, LPDDR4)

  • Develop digital interfaces including I2C, SPI, SDIO, and other high-speed interfaces

  • Define routing constraints and support layout activities

  • Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis

  • Support integration, test, troubleshooting, and qualification efforts

  • Utilize lab equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and related test tools

  • Apply design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for test (DFT) principles

  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams

  • Contribute to technical reviews and cross-functional program discussions

Qualifications Sought

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 5+ years of experience
    OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years of experience

  • Experience with schematic capture and digital subsystem design

  • Experience designing PCBs/PWBs using Siemens Xpedition or similar tools

  • Knowledge of FPGA-based designs and DDR memory interfaces

  • Understanding of full hardware development lifecycle processes

  • U.S. Citizenship required
