Senior Platform Cybersecurity Engin
Location: Sterling Heights –Onsite]
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hours: 9/80 schedule (nine-hour days Mon–Thu, every other Friday off)
Pay Range: Competitive, based on experience


About the Role

You will lead and support the Cyber and C5ISR engineering team to develop secure, compliant, and high-performing systems for military ground combat platforms. This role allows you to shape system-level cyber architecture, drive integration across functional teams, and ensure solutions meet mission-critical requirements while advancing your technical leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cyber architecture, evaluation, testing, and compliance for vehicle systems
  • Manage system requirements, interface allocations, and enforce performance, SWaP-CRaM, and reliability standards
  • Conduct trade studies and structured decision-making for system and subsystem design
  • Oversee development and execution of verification plans, including test, production, and field site evaluations
  • Participate in and lead design troubleshooting, RCCA, and problem resolution
  • Develop and review checkpoint and milestone artifacts, ensuring technical accuracy and contract compliance
  • Coordinate with platform IPTs and cross-functional teams to ensure integrated design and compliance
  • Evaluate emerging Cyber and C5ISR technologies for potential application
  • Mentor team members and foster a cyber security culture within the engineering organization

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field (cyber technical certificates or management credentials considered)
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including military or defense projects
  • Experience with embedded systems, cyber physical systems, and threat analysis/risk assessment (TARA)
  • Knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards (NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53)
  • Experience preparing System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and related documentation
  • Proficiency with Cameo Systems Modeler and modeling languages such as SysML
  • Experience leading technical development teams
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with military vehicle development and integration
  • Familiarity with cyber warfare, offensive/defensive operations, and electronic hardware troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Ability to travel up to 15% (domestic and occasional international)
  • Ability to work on, in, and around military vehicles and pass ASR requirements
