Engineering Product Manager (Senior Career Level)
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Work Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday off)
Workplace: Onsite

About the Position
The Engineering Product Manager (EPM) provides senior engineering leadership for tracked ground vehicle programs, overseeing cross-functional teams responsible for subsystem and vehicle-level design, integration, and testing. This role carries responsibility and authority for driving technical decisions, managing cost and schedule performance, and delivering key products that meet customer and program objectives.

The EPM serves as the technical and programmatic bridge between engineering, leadership, and customers, ensuring execution excellence across complex, multi-disciplinary efforts.

Responsibilities to Anticipate

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams through vehicle system-level design, integration, build, and test activities

  • Develop and execute project plans, integrated schedules, and funding mechanisms

  • Forecast project demand, manage work scope, and maintain performance metrics

  • Apply project management best practices to drive cost, schedule, and technical performance

  • Facilitate and support technical reviews, programmatic events, and milestone activities

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for internal stakeholders and external customers

  • Represent engineering and project status to senior leadership and customers

  • Support proposal efforts, RFIs, and bid preparation

  • Manage incoming problem reports, change requests, and issue prioritization through resolution

  • Track and manage risk, earned value, and change processing metrics

  • Assess customer feedback and drive process improvements to increase throughput and satisfaction

Qualifications Sought

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including 5+ years in project management

  • Demonstrated success leading complex system design, development, and integration efforts

  • Proven ability to lead teams in an indirect leadership role

  • Strong experience with Department of Defense or similar regulated industries

  • Experience with Teamcenter, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk management

  • PMP certification preferred

  • Strong analytical, planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive-level presence

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical presentation tools

Additional Information

  • Ability to travel as required

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Security clearance required

  • Must be able to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, fast-paced defense environment
