Thermal Management Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Employment Type: Contract | Hours: 40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri

You will support the design, development, and release of thermal management and HVAC subsystems for advanced vehicle platforms. This role offers hands-on engineering experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver reliable heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions. Key Responsibilities
  • Support mechanical and thermal design of HVAC systems for powertrain, electronics, and crew cabin applications
  • Assist in developing vehicle-level performance requirements and engineering specifications
  • Perform fluid flow analysis to size and optimize thermal distribution systems
  • Support design, selection, and integration of HVAC components and subsystems
  • Participate in trade studies and evaluation of alternative design concepts
  • Track weight, cost, thermal, and power allocations
  • Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and support drawing releases
  • Assist with preparation of SOWs, RFP documentation, and supplier evaluations
  • Support supplier coordination, technical reviews, and design validation activities
  • Participate in prototype builds, testing, and resolution of production or field issues

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 1–3 years of experience in a mechanical or thermal engineering role
  • Understanding of thermal systems, heat transfer, and mechanical design principles
  • Experience supporting prototype and/or production build activities
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

  • Ability to travel up to 20% as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HVAC systems or thermal management components

  • Familiarity with Teamcenter and Vis Mockup

  • Exposure to supplier coordination or technical documentation
