Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with strong skills in engine troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair to support the U.S. Army’s Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle program. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise with diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulics, and electrical systems and can diagnose complex mechanical issues in heavy vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and powertrain systems on military tracked vehicles.
  • Perform inspections, upgrades, modifications, and maintenance on AMPV fleets.
  • Use diagnostic tools, software, schematics, and technical manuals to identify and correct faults.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to soldiers, field service teams, and maintenance personnel.
  • Travel to military bases and depots to perform field repairs and support missions.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting devices.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Military Vehicle Technician or ASE Certified Mechanic. 
  • Strong background in diesel engine troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, and air-conditioning systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • U.S. Citizenship required (due to government contract).
  • Must be able and willing to travel on short notice.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior military vehicle maintenance (Bradley, Abrams, AMPV, or similar tracked vehicles).
  • Knowledge of U.S. Army maintenance systems or dealer management systems.
  • Experience training or mentoring mechanics or soldiers.
Must be able to obtain a secruity clearance within a reasonable time after hire or have one currently.
