Digital Hardware Design Engineer

Position Overview
Seeking a Digital Hardware Design Engineer to support development of tactical radio and secure communications hardware. This role focuses on schematic design, PCB development, and high-speed digital interfaces for next-generation software-defined radio (SDR) systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop digital hardware and PCB/PWB layouts
- Perform schematic capture and circuit design
- Integrate ARM processors, microcontrollers, and DDR memory (DDR3/DDR4/LPDDR4)
- Develop and support high-speed digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, SDIO)
- Conduct hardware testing and validation using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters)
- Support design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for test (DFT)
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
- 5+ years of relevant experience, OR
- Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience
Key Skills
- PCB/PWB design and schematic capture
- Experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity
- Familiarity with Siemens Xpedition or similar PCB design tools
- Experience with DDR memory interfaces and embedded processors
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
Work Environment
- Onsite or Hybrid/Flex (varies by program)
- Location: Scottsdale, AZ
