Engineering Project Manager Staff Wheeled Systems

$63–$70/hour
Position Overview
Seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead production and sustainment efforts for wheeled military vehicle platforms (e.G., Stryker, Sgt Stout). This role is responsible for cross-functional engineering leadership, ensuring delivery of projects within cost, schedule, and technical constraints.
Key Responsibilities Production Support
- Lead resolution of production-related engineering issues
- Drive corrective actions for critical program risks
- Coordinate activities with Joint Change Review Board (JCRB)
- Serve as technical interface for internal teams and customers
- Support RFPs, proposals, and program kickoff activities
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
- Apply Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to track performance
- Manage budget, manpower forecasting, and resource planning
- Identify and mitigate program risks and issues
- Track and report project status and performance metrics
- Manage contract scope and technical deliverables
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related)
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years in defense or engineering programs preferred
Key Skills
- Project & program management (EVMS, IMS, budgeting)
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams
- Strong customer interface and stakeholder management
- Knowledge of contract management and scope control
- Experience with scheduling tools and critical path analysis
- Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic/international)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (O365)
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills

- Onsite –Sterling Heights, MI
