Engineering Staff –Supplier Quality Assurance
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Pay Rate: $53.57 –$57.14/hr
Work Schedule: 9/80 (Every Other Friday Off)

Position Overview
The Engineering Staff –Supplier Quality Assurance role supports military ground vehicle programs through supplier quality oversight and compliance management. This position ensures subcontractor and supplier products meet contractual, regulatory, and technical data package (TDP) requirements while maintaining alignment with industry and military standards.

This role includes onsite supplier engagement, audits, source inspections, and quality system evaluations.

Responsibilities to Anticipate

  • Evaluate supplier Quality Management Systems (QMS) and overall performance

  • Provide QA oversight for subcontractor and supplier hardware procurement and acceptance

  • Review and process Material Review (MR) documentation, POs, SOWs, and quality provisions

  • Conduct onsite source inspections, witness acceptance testing, and review FPI data

  • Audit First Piece Inspection (FPI), Acceptance Test Plans (ATP), and Acceptance Test Reports (ATR) for compliance with TDP

  • Support ISO 9001: 2015 and AS9100D evaluations or conduct supplier audits as needed

  • Maintain and manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL)

  • Support nonconforming material disposition and Material Review Board (MRB) activities

  • Understand and evaluate fabricated hardware processes (AWS/GDLS welding standards, MIL, SAE, DIN, ANSI, etc.)

  • Develop monthly metrics, reports, and quality performance presentations

  • Support additional QA initiatives as assigned

Qualifications Sought

  • 7+ years of supplier quality or manufacturing quality experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (equivalent experience considered)

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015 or AS9100D

  • Experience with MRB, nonconformance processing, and deviation management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Exposure to Oracle, Teamcenter, and TIPQA preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 25% (CONUS/OCONUS)

Work Environment

  • 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off)

  • Onsite support within a military vehicle manufacturing environment

  • Travel to supplier sites, government installations, and subcontractor facilities
