Position Description:
Feature MBSE Engineer - Participation in process and tool reviews to identify appropriate industry standard MBD development practices to support EESE feature prototyping in the following areas: * System architecture & design of small to medium sized embedded systems * System modeling and model design * Embedded software development - Partner with EESE feature development teams to support development of prototype features using MBD processes, tools and skillsets to execute functional partitioning of features: * Capturing and documenting business, feature development and testing requirements * Translating and architecting feature requirements into executable system designs * Developing interfaces between objects/classes * Specifying system level requirements * Use auto-coding techniques to produce hardware agnostic embedded target code - Ensure MBD systems align with production launch objectives * Interface with EESE Core Feature Owners and external development partners to communicate and coordinate software development & modeling process * Ensure Forward Model teams have the necessary tools, skills and resources to deliver new features
Skills Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience with Harmony Deskbook processes - Knowledge of concepts around CAN, Ethernet, Vehicle Diagnostics Protocol (UDS), Test driven development (TDD), Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) - Knowledge of vehicle components functions - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English - Able to work flexible across multiple disciplines - Able to simultaneously work on multiple projects while independently managing their time - Familiarity with developing mechatronic systems
Experience Required:
- Experience in applying MBSE - Experience with SysML, UML, UPDM, and other modeling languages - Experience with modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, System and/or Software editions, or Simulink
Experience Preferred:
- Experience with the analysis, decomposition and synthesis of mechatronic systems - 3+ years of Embedded Software Design and Development experience - 3+ years of Embedded Systems Design and Architecture experience - 2+ years of experience in Modeling and generating code using Simulink - Experience using the Mathworks and dSPACE tool suites for MBD software development - Experience with defining systems or software development processes - Experience with AUTOSAR and SAO software architectures - Experience defining processes within an MBSE development environment - Experience interacting within an Agile environment using SCRUM methods
Education Required:
Bachelor' s in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similarly related degree
Education Preferred:
Master' s Degree in an Engineering discipline

Additional position details: - Help in representing production and proof of concept systems architectures within Model Based of tool suites - Create working demonstrations to develop common methods, processes and best practices - Develop and publish best practices, methods and processes around MBSE - Support the decomposition of complex systems into reusable components and architectures - Support project based work in areas that demonstrate technologies and motivate alignment of production teams - Support the integration and use of corporate tools for MBSE into project teams' workflows - Leverage and enhance existing methods, procedures and processes using Model Based tools to support the specification and development of vehicle features - Support tool alignment activities in areas such as virtual validation, Ford' s Product/Application Lifecycle Management system, GitHub continuous integration, knowledge sharing and AGILE development using tools like JIRA/Rally, Git, VSEM/Polarion andJenkins
