Field Machine Repair Technician –1st Shift (Travel Role)
Grand Rapids, MI
Travel Required: ~75% (Domestic –Company Truck Used In-State)
Pay Range:

  • 0–2 Years: $32.00 –$34.00/hr

  • 3–5 Years: $37.51 –$38.68/hr

  • 5–6+ Years: $37.84 –$39.00/hr
    Full-Time | Overtime Available | Per Diem Provided on Travel

About the Opportunity
Our client, a premier Tier 1 automotive manufacturer, is seeking Field Machine Repair Technicians to join their 1st shift team. This is a hands-on, travel-intensive role (75%) supporting multiple U.S. Facilities. You’ll work on heavy stamping equipment, diagnosing and repairing complex machinery while representing a respected industry leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, dismantle, and repair high-tonnage stamping machines

  • Inspect, lubricate, and perform preventive & corrective maintenance

  • Install and adjust new/repaired machine parts and assemblies

  • Use welding/cutting equipment as required

  • Maintain facility equipment and structural integrity

  • Adhere to OSHA safety standards and LOTO procedures

  • Travel to off-site locations:

    • Per diem provided

    • Hotels booked by corporate travel department

    • Company truck used for Michigan travel

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Experience Levels Accepted:

    • Entry-Level (0–2 years) –Mechanical aptitude required

    • Experienced (3+ years) –Heavy equipment or stamping preferred

  • Journeyman card a plus, not required

  • Physically capable of working in industrial environments

  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%)
