Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Office in Ann Arbor, MI
Preferred Candidates: Local to Michigan or Boston (close to major airport)
Compensation: $75, 000 - $90, 000 per year
Travel: 90% travel required
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join their team. This role involves extensive travel to various client locations to install, maintain, and repair new machinery shipped from Germany. The ideal candidate will be local to Michigan or Boston and will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless installation and operation of our equipment at customer sites.
Responsibilities:
- Travel extensively (90% of the time) to customer locations for equipment installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Collaborate with the office in Ann Arbor and communicate with the team to ensure smooth operations.
- Install new machines assembled in Germany and shipped to the US for installation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machinery.
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to clients.
- Document and report service activities, including detailed service reports.
- Assist in the training of customers on the proper use and maintenance of the equipment.
- Coordinate with the sales team and other technicians to address customer needs and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role.
- Strong technical and mechanical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (90% travel).
- Familiarity with German machinery and the ability to read technical manuals is a plus.
- Knowledge of the German language is ideal but not required.
