Field Service Technician (CATV Program)
Location: Fairbanks & Anchorage, Alaska (with travel to other Alaska sites as needed)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract | Hours: 40 hrs/week (may include field rotations)
Pay Range: $30.27/hr

About the Role
Join an elite support team providing field maintenance and technical expertise for the U.S. Army’s Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) fleet —the next-generation replacement for the Small Unit Support Vehicle (SUSV). As a Field Service Technician (FST), you’ll deliver hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades to ensure CATV vehicles perform in the harshest cold-weather conditions across Alaska.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on CATV systems, including drivetrain, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.

  • Conduct warranty repairs, retrofits, upgrades, and modifications as required by program needs.

  • Provide field and garrison technical support to U.S. Army, Army National Guard, and Reserve units.

  • Accurately document maintenance actions and communicate findings through reports and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Support and mentor operators through on-the-job learning and hands-on demonstrations.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and government contract requirements.

  • Operate effectively in extreme cold-weather field environments for extended periods.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • U.S. Citizenship (required for government contract compliance).

  • Military Mechanic Training (Heavy Track, Wheeled, or Engineer Equipment MOS –E-4 or higher) OR Civilian Automotive/Heavy Truck certification with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience.

  • Proven ability to perform complex maintenance and troubleshooting across vehicle subsystems.

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation.

  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and self-supervision skills.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. Passport and qualify for a U.S. Government-issued Common Access Card (CAC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting military vehicle programs in field environments.

  • Familiarity with Army logistics systems and maintenance protocols.

  • Demonstrated adaptability to remote or extreme weather operations.

Additional Details

  • Work will primarily take place in Alaska (Fairbanks, Anchorage, and remote sites).

  • Requires physical capability to perform maintenance tasks outdoors in sub-zero temperatures.

  • Travel may be required to support training and deployments across the state.
