Field Service Technician

Job Description
Location: Canton, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Pay Range: $35–50 per hour, based on experience
About the Role
You will support customers by troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, and commissioning large-scale industrial press and forming equipment at customer sites across North America. This role plays a key part in maintaining equipment reliability, supporting customer operations, and serving as a technical point of contact in the field.
Key Responsibilities
·Troubleshoot, repair, and assemble heavy industrial equipment at customer sites
·Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and limited electrical work
·Support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities
·Perform and document preventative maintenance inspections
·Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and bills of material
·Identify repair, service, and upgrade opportunities at customer locations
·Produce accurate service reports and documentation
·Support on-call service needs, including weekends and holidays as required
·Maintain safety, quality, and customer service standards at all times
Required Qualifications
·High school diploma or equivalent
·2 to 5+ years of field service, machine build, or industrial maintenance experience
·Strong mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
·Experience working with heavy machinery or press equipment
·Ability to work independently in customer environments
·Strong communication and customer interaction skills
·Valid driver’s license and passport
Preferred Qualifications
·Associate degree or Journeyman certification
·Electrical troubleshooting experience
·Experience supporting OEM equipment in the field
·German language skills
Additional Details
·Full-time, direct hire role with benefits
·Position requires 100% travel across the US, Canada, and Mexico
·Flexibility with work hours is required
·This role works closely with engineering and internal service teams
