Ford Exterior Lighting Product Engineer
The Ford Exterior Lighting Product Engineer role spans a variety of engineering fields including mechanical, electrical, and optics. This position involves responsibilities including definition of requirements, tooling, validation testing, and launching in an assembly plant during the development of Exterior Lighting products throughout a vehicle' s lifecycle. This role requires an engineer to lead and drive a cross functional team that includes lighting suppliers, studio, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality functions. Responsibilities • Generate and execute technical solutions for Exterior Lighting components to support new vehicle programs • Perform complex engineering evaluation analysis • Work cross-functionally to implement cost savings, product improvements, and to support prototype and production build activities • Balance attributes such as cost, weight, complexity, and timing • Production release of Exterior Lighting systems, subsystems, and components • Communicate information to and from internal and external organizations • Lead team meetings (suppliers, designers, engineers, manufacturing, supplier quality, etc.) • Travels as required (including international)
-Familiarity with the engineering design of exterior lighting components -Familiarity with Design For Six Sigma process -Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) -Knowledge of; plastic materials, plastic injection molding, optics, basic electrical/electronic circuitry, lamp manufacturing processes, tooling, fixture design and product validation -Knowledge of global lighting regulations

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Optics)
Master' s Degree or other Advanced Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Optics Engineering. MBA' s are also preferred.
Matt started with Contract Professionals, Inc. in November 2014. He began as a Technical Recruiter assigned to the automotive team. He worked hand in hand with account managers, to spearhead specific projects with CPI's clients. Driven to succeed, Matt achieved his goal(s) within the first year. He continued working on accounts and he learned the leadership process throughout his 4-year career at CPI.
When the opportunity presented itself, he was promoted to Account Manager of the automotive division. He navigates the challenges in this new role by utilizing the senior staff in the office.
Matt was awarded a Bachelor of Art in Environmental Studies at University of Michigan. Matt also received an Associate degree in Automotive Mechanics from a local community college.
