Job Description
Job Title: Experienced Abrams Maintenance Mechanic
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Abrams Maintenance Mechanic with experience in the modification and maintenance of various Abrams Tank models, including the M1A1ED, M1A2SEP V2, M104, and HAB, as well as other tracked and wheeled vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to program planning, scheduling, and the development of maintenance techniques for Abrams Fleet Vehicles and other tracked/wheeled vehicles.
- Diagnose technical issues and support Field Service Representatives in performing necessary maintenance tasks.
- Execute additional duties as assigned by leadership responsible for maintenance operations.
Position Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience specifically with Abrams Tanks.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Capability to work effectively in both team and cross-functional environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Access Requirements: Must be able to gain access to U.S. Military facilities or bases.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, and work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Driver's License: Valid State Driver's License required, with the ability to obtain a tank driver's license if necessary.
- Anthropometric Requirements: Must meet the physical requirements for entry into the driver's station or enclosed military vehicles.
- Customer Relations: Understanding of customer contacts and relationship management.
- Tool and Property Accountability: Maintain responsibility for assigned tools and property.
- Safety and Independence: Adhere to shop safety protocols and work autonomously with government personnel.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to support maintenance, fielding, and retrofit activities.
