Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Bradley Fighting Vehicle Mechanic (91M) to support field service operations at Fort Hood, TX. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing tracked military vehicles while supporting customers in both shop and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on Bradley Fighting Vehicles and related systems
- Document technical problems and develop recommended corrective actions
- Perform assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of military equipment
- Support pre-overhaul inspections and prepare detailed discrepancy reports
- Assist in planning, estimating, and scheduling personnel and equipment for field service projects
- Maintain configuration control databases and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities
- Provide input to engineering teams regarding system deficiencies and potential design improvements
- Serve as a point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal teams regarding technical and scheduling matters
- Support logistics functions related to field service operations, including parts tracking and inventory
Basic Qualifications
- Military Occupational Specialty 91M (Bradley Fighting Vehicle Mechanic) or equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience with tracked vehicle maintenance (Bradley preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Experience using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and specialized test equipment
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior field service or Field Service Representative (FSR) experience
- Experience supporting U.S. Army maintenance operations or contractors (GDLS, BAE, etc.)
- Familiarity with maintenance systems such as GCSS-Army or similar
- Leadership or team lead experience in maintenance environments
Education & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
