Position: Abrams Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Fort Cavazos, TX
Pay Rate: Competitive (based on experience)
Schedule: On-Site / Field & Shop Environment

Position Overview
The Abrams Maintenance Mechanic will perform operation, maintenance, and modification work orders (MWO) on Abrams Main Battle Tank variants including M1A1 SA, M1A2 SEP V2, and SEP V3. This role supports preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, retrofit, and fleet sustainment activities within field and shop environments.
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS)

Install and execute Modification Work Orders (MWOs) on Abrams tank variants

Read and interpret troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures and flow diagrams for systems, subsystems, and components

Maintain accountability of special tools, test equipment, and assigned property

Support maintenance, fielding, and retrofit activities as required

Successfully complete Job Proficiency Certification for Abrams fleet vehicles

Work autonomously alongside government personnel when required

Travel as necessary to support state-side fleet sustainment activities
Qualifications Sought

Minimum of one (1) year of general mechanical maintenance experience (Abrams experience preferred)

Basic knowledge of tools and test equipment required for military vehicle maintenance

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Must be able to gain access to U.S. Military facilities (NACI clearance if required)

Must be a U.S. Person
-
Valid State Driver’s License required and ability to obtain a tank driver’s license
-
Must meet Anthropometric Size Requirements (ASR) for entry into driver stations or enclosed military vehicles

Ability to work at heights, lift/carry up to 50 pounds, climb, and work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented structure in both field and shop environments
