Job Description


Overview

The Maintenance Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the supportability and maintainability of complex engineering designs, particularly within the context of ground combat vehicles. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, maintenance practices, and logistics support concepts. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various analyses, reviewing technical documentation, and developing supporting materials to ensure the effective maintenance and support of these systems.

Responsibilities
  • Supportability and Maintenance Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses to assess the supportability and maintainability of engineering designs.
  • Technical Documentation Review: Review drawings, change requests, engineering change proposals, computer models, and other relevant documentation to identify maintenance supply support requirements.
  • Logistics Support Analysis: Participate in the Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) process, conducting detailed task analyses to identify the resources needed for maintenance and support.
  • Database Management: Support the development, maintenance, and update of requirements databases in accordance with GEIA-STD-007 and Slicwave.
  • Source Data Development: Develop Maintenance Engineering source data to be used in the creation of Field Maintenance Technical Manuals, National Maintenance Work Requests, and other publications. 
  • Design Assessment: Assess emerging designs for requirements compliance and recommend design alternatives to enhance supportability and maintainability. 
  • Documentation: Document the results of detailed task analysis in the Logistic Support Analysis Record (LSAR) database.
  • Technical Translation: Translate engineering and other technical information into source data to support the development of ILS products.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in engineering or maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with ground combat vehicle maintenance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GEIA-STD-007 and LSA/LSAR is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Slicwave database is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Special Tools and Test Equipment (STTE), Provisioning, and Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTLs).
  • Working knowledge of the U.S. Army logistics support structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with personal computers, CAD models (PRO-E/Product View), and MS Office applications.
