Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Commerce Township, MI
Employment Type: Direct Hire with Excellent Benefits
Pay Rate: $30–$32/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10: 00 AM–8: 00 PM (flexibility to work Fridays as overtime)
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair of production equipment, facilities, and systems. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will focus on safety, troubleshooting, long-term reliability, and equipment uptime, while proactively identifying areas for process improvement and efficiency. A customer-focused attitude is essential, as production and internal departments are key customers for this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production machinery, including CNC equipment, coating systems, and rotating mechanical equipment.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.

Electrical Work: Install and maintain electrical circuits, both control and power, while complying with Arc Flash program requirements.

Facility Maintenance: Perform facility-related tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.

Equipment Fabrication: Fabricate components as needed and maintain organized, clean work areas.

Safety Compliance: Operate equipment in accordance with company and regulatory safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of work performed, parts used, and inspections.

Collaboration: Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

External Contractors: Coordinate with external service providers as needed.

Other Duties: Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.
Required Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.
-
Experience: Minimum of 6 years in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:
-
Manual machining, fabrication, and welding experience.

Knowledge of HVAC systems and building safety systems, including fire prevention.

Proficiency with PLC programming (Level 1 Allen Bradley), robotics (ABB & Fanuc), and NDT methods.

Understanding of controls including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical prints.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors as required.

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Industrial Maintenance Certificate or Controls Training.

Additional certifications related to maintenance or electrical systems.
