Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the launch of a new ground combat vehicle. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to provide manufacturing expertise, develop MBOMs, support tooling identification, and guide Assembly Technicians. The ideal candidate will have experience in production processes, workflow optimization, and digital engineering strategies.
Essential Functions:
- Define and control production processes, including sequence of operations and workflow.
- Develop and maintain MBOMs, work instructions, and MRP planning.
- Recommend tooling and equipment to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Interpret design specifications, drawings, and models for manufacturing.
- Collaborate across teams to incorporate design changes that improve manufacturability.
- Support prototype builds, production, and quality initiatives.
- Lead PFMEA development and implement lessons learned into quotes and standards.
- Provide guidance to Assembly Technicians on assembly and vehicle tasks.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- None
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with PLM Teamcenter MPP, MBOM, and MRP planning.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and Digital Twin strategies.
- Ability to analyze and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Familiarity with defense contracts and DCMA audits.
- Proficiency in CAD model interrogation and Windows-based software.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and waste reduction practices.
Education & Experience:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Administration.
- 5-10 years of manufacturing experience, with familiarity in U.S. Defense contracts.
- Project management experience is a plus.
Background Prerequisites:
- Must pass background check, employment verification, reference checks, and controlled substance testing.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Requires continuous sitting and ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Some travel may be required (up to 10%).
