Overview
An industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer to support service, spare parts, and aftermarket sales for complex mechanical equipment. This role is customer-facing and technical, focused on quote generation, order intake, and coordination with engineering, field service, and sales teams. Ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build commercial and technical depth within heavy industrial equipment.
Location: Canton, MI
Compensation: Direct Hire, On-Site, Up to $75, 000
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or automation environments
- Internship or early career experience with robotics or automation OEMs strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
- Exposure to SAP or ERP systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-focused mindset with interest in technical sales
Key Responsibilities
- Generate accurate service, spare parts, and equipment quotes based on customer requirements
- Track quotes from creation through closure, including follow-up and system updates
- Provide technical support to outside sales and customers via phone and email
- Review drawings, schematics, bills of material, and technical documentation
- Coordinate internally with engineering, field service, project management, and procurement
- Support order handoff after intake and monitor open orders in SAP
- Assist with resolving commercial issues including order status, delivery timing, and invoice questions
- Identify additional service, maintenance, training, and spare parts opportunities
- Support monthly order intake and sales targets
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Eligibility to obtain a passport
