Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Compensation: Base salary up to $55, 000 per year + commission
About the Role
As a Technical Sales Trainee, you will join a growing industrial sales team supporting customers in hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation. You will build strong customer relationships, learn technical solutions, and grow into a field-facing sales role with full training and mentorship from experienced sales professionals. This role is ideal for candidates with inside sales experience who are eager to expand into technical and industrial sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior sales staff to learn the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing.
- Conduct in-plant visits to strengthen customer relationships and support account growth.
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and follow-up communications to drive sales activity.
- Learn and apply technical knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems.
- Identify opportunities for expansion within existing accounts and pursue new prospects.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity in CRM systems.
Required Qualifications
- Based in or near Dayton, Ohio
- Prior inside sales experience required, ideally with industrial components or systems (hydraulics/pneumatics preferred)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to learn technical products and applications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in technical, industrial, or manufacturing sales
- Familiarity with CRM software and quoting tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts
