Job Description
A well-established and stable manufacturing company in Washtenaw County is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Screw Machine Operator to join their team. This is a great long-term opportunity for someone with Acme Gridley experience looking for steady hours, growth potential, and competitive benefits.
Pay: $18.00–$25.00/hr (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
•Operate and maintain Acme Gridley screw machines
•Run two machines concurrently during each shift
•Perform tool and drill changes, basic troubleshooting, and minor mechanical fixes
•Conduct scheduled quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
•Maintain machines through regular cleaning, oiling, and light upkeep
•Load raw materials into machines as needed
•Work as part of a team in a safety- and quality-focused environment
Shift Options
Day Shift: 6: 00 a.M. –4: 30 p.M. (Monday–Friday)
Afternoon Shift: 4: 30 p.M. –2: 30 a.M. (Monday–Friday)
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required
Qualifications
•Minimum 1 year of experience operating Acme Gridley screw machines
•Comfortable using or learning micrometers, calipers, and gauges
•Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
•Reliable attendance and a self-starter mentality
•Ability to work independently and take initiative
•Must have reliable transportation
