Job Title: Maintenance Lead
Location: Plymouth MI (Onsite)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour (based on experience)
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Lead to oversee facility and equipment maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance, team oversight, and supporting production uptime goals. The Maintenance Lead will work closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities across the facility

Supervise and mentor a small team of maintenance technicians

Schedule, assign, and verify completion of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks

Support and improve key metrics such as Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
-
Assist with installation, commissioning, and upkeep of specialized European machinery
-
Utilize SAP and internal maintenance software for reporting and inventory tracking
-
Ensure workplace safety and compliance with internal standards and procedures

Coordinate vendor services and oversee parts ordering and inventory control

Provide support during customer audits and certification processes (e.G., ISO, Q1)
Qualifications:
-
7+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, with at least 2 in a leadership or supervisory role

Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems (plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)

Familiarity with SAP and preventive maintenance tracking systems

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Excellent communication and team leadership skills

Experience supporting automotive quality systems (e.G., ISO, Ford Q1) is a plus
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. And perform physical maintenance work as needed
