Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Material Handler to coordinate the movement and storage of raw materials, finished products, and parts. This role involves receiving and documenting materials, transferring ownership, coordinating Material Review Board (MRB) shipments within the ERP system, and compiling data on order volume, production schedules, and material forecasts.
Essential Functions:
- Perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing materials.
- Count, weigh, or measure incoming and outgoing items to verify accuracy against invoices or orders.
- Examine shipments for damage or shortages and work with shippers to resolve issues.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including packaging, weighing, and completing shipping forms.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to transport or reorganize materials.
- Support assembly activities and provide direction to other material handling personnel.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- None
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Forklift certification required.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and non-conformance software.
- Ability to analyze production schedules, material forecasts, and inventory shortages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and previous plant experience preferred.
Background Prerequisites:
- Must pass background check, employment verification, reference checks, and controlled substance testing.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May require prolonged standing and physical movement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
