Mechanical Engineer
Location: Quincy, MA
Pay Rate: $63.96/hour

About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced autonomous subsea systems and vehicles within an Autonomous Maritime Platforms environment. This role will work cross-functionally to design, develop, and support next-generation unmanned undersea technologies from concept through production.

This is an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge autonomous maritime defense platforms while gaining exposure to full lifecycle product development.

Responsibilities to Anticipate / Expect

  • Support design and development of mechanical systems for autonomous subsea vehicles and platforms

  • Develop mechanical designs from concept through production release

  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering documentation

  • Support prototype builds, assembly, integration, and testing activities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering

  • Participate in design reviews and engineering change processes

  • Apply GD&T principles to mechanical design and documentation

  • Support product lifecycle data management using PDM systems

  • Contribute to innovative design solutions supporting autonomous and unmanned maritime systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM discipline

  • 5+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years experience

  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred / Desired Experience
Design & Tools

  • Mechanical design experience in product development environments

  • SolidWorks (MCAD) experience

  • PTC Windchill (PDM) experience

Domain Knowledge

  • Undersea, maritime, or subsea engineering environments

  • Autonomous / Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (AUV/UUV) technologies

Engineering Fundamentals

  • GD&T knowledge and application

  • Hands-on prototype assembly and development experience

Soft Skills & Mindset

  • Creative problem solving and concept-to-production design mindset

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth

Work Environment

  • 100% Onsite –Quincy, MA

  • 9/80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
