Mobility Engineer (5-7 years experience)

Position Overview
Seeking a Mobility Engineer to support testing, development, and validation of Full Up Powerpack (FUPP) systems for ground combat vehicles. This role focuses on powertrain testing, data analysis, and system validation across conventional, hybrid-electric, and fully electric platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support build, test, and development of powerpack systems (engine, transmission, MGU, cooling, drivetrain)
- Develop and execute test procedures (bench, dyno, and vehicle-level)
- Perform instrumentation, data collection, and post-test analysis
- Conduct testing across component, FUPP dyno, and vehicle platforms
- Diagnose issues and support problem reporting & resolution
- Interface with suppliers, test facilities, and cross-functional teams
- Support design validation, verification, and TDP development
- Prepare technical reports and program updates
- Assist with test facility setup, configuration, and operations
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in powertrain testing & development
- Experience with conventional and electrified powertrains
Key Skills
- Powertrain testing (engine, transmission, hybrid/electric systems)
- Dyno, bench, and vehicle-level testing
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills
- Experience with test instrumentation and validation processes
- Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM (preferred)
- Experience with 3D modeling/data interrogation tools
Preferred Experience
- Military ground vehicle experience
- Heavy-duty or automotive powertrain systems
Additional Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person
- Ability to work onsite and travel to test facilities as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment
- Onsite –Sterling Heights, MI
- Work across lab, test facilities, and vehicle environments
