CPI has an immediate opening for an On-Site Sr. Software Engineer for our client' s Tysons Corner/Fairfax, VA area facility. Please keep in mind that this is a Direct Hire role.
 
The position requires someone with a keen ability to rapidly solve software challenges and communicate effectively with the customer, team and end users on a highly important and exciting program. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently under pressure and effectively identify, recommend and solve mission related issues when software solutions are needed. The candidate must be able to communicate and work effectively with a remote, non-collocated development team.
 
The On-Site Sr. Software Engineer will ensure the proper operation of the Mult-Int Analysis and Archive System (MAAS – FMV) which includes a large number of dependencies on other systems (e.G., video encoders, network infrastructure, database, etc.) The candidate will develop customer software solutions on-site at the direction of the government customer and the MAAS development team.
 
In addition to solving ongoing operational problems, Client software solutions will be greatly valued, especially using the latest accepted software technologies. On-site software implementations and prototypes will be evaluated and migrated back into the formal software baseline at the factory.
 
The ideal candidate will have a general passion for software solutions and will possess an inquisitive mind that can quickly adapt and work effectively with the entire on-site team.
 
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Active DoD TS/SCI w/full scope  polygraph is required at time of submission. All applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This assignment is a U.S. Government Contract. Due to the work performed within our client' s facility, U.S. Citizenship is required. Absolutely no third-party applicants will be considered. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor' s degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience OR Master' s degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred
 
CRITICAL SKILLS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDED:
  • Java

  • XML and HTML
  • SQL (SQL Server is preferred)
  • Good team and customer communication skills.
     
ADDITIONAL SKILLS INCLUDE:
  • Windows OS administration and troubleshooting (e.G., administrating Group policies)
  • An understanding of concepts in video (e.G., FMV, Group Of Picture (GOP), H.264, H.265, I Frame, etc.)
  • Drive to pro-actively seek out customer needs and system improvements.
