Job Description

Incumbent will assist with our combat vehicle programs for evaluating design changes and modifications for reliability implications and recommending improvements where feasible. In this role, you will interact closely with lead reliability engineers and design engineers. Potential programs to support include: Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV), Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV), and the recovery vehicle (M88).

Responsibilities:
  • Develop reliability mathematical analysis and technical inputs to system design to ensure a robust, high reliability design for maximizing availability and sustainment to minimize the logistics footprint.
  • Develop reliability prediction and assessment models.
  • Performs Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis for early design.
  • Track mitigation or elimination of failures modes to assess improvements and update analysis by evaluating test results.
  • Prepare reliability mathematical models and/or reliability block diagrams.
  • Manage Test Incident Reports (TIRs) and Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) data. Interface with design team to address potential failure mode mitigation/elimination to at least the subsystem level.
  • Understand impact of software on system reliability.
  • Help in the planning of Reliability Enhancement Testing (RET) and reliability demonstration testing. Track and monitor system level reliability parameters

Skills Required:
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with peers and customers to solve technical problems and to work successfully in a team environment.

Skills Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Relyence reliability software or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Cameo systems modeling software or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering methods.

Experience Preferred:
Familiar with specialty engineering (maintainability, diagnostics, safety, etc.) and systems engineering disciplines.

Education Required:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Software Engineering) or equivalent experience as a substitution for education.

Education Preferred:
ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer
