Job Description
Location: Fully Remote
Pay Rate: $69.37/hour
About the Role
CPI is seeking an experienced Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout Designer (ECAD) to support advanced electronic hardware development in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will perform detailed PCB layout design and documentation while working closely with electrical and mechanical engineering teams. This position is ideal for a designer with deep experience in high-speed and HDI board designs who thrives in a collaborative, high-expectation engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed PCB layout design and documentation under direction from electrical and mechanical engineers.

Work from schematics, part lists, and functional descriptions defining board constraints, configuration, and arrangement.

Utilize the Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition toolset, including:

Xpedition Layout
-
Valor
-
DRC Hazard Checker
-
Constraint Editor / Constraint Manager (CES)

Drawing Editor
-
-
Create and maintain electronic library symbols, geometry, and footprints.

Run Valor and DRC Hazard checks to ensure designs are error-free and meet technical expectations.

Review and verify drawings for correctness and conformance to standard engineering drafting practices and standards.
What Sets You Apart

Extensive experience designing HDI printed circuit / wiring boards for high-speed designs.

Strong working knowledge of MIL and IPC standards.

Familiarity with current Siemens/Mentor Graphics tools, including Xpedition Design and Layout, Valor, CES, and Drawing Editor.

Demonstrated passion for innovation, teamwork, and ownership of design quality.
Basic Qualifications
-
Associate’s degree or equivalent plus 7+ years of relevant PCB layout experience.

U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work performed.
